I am a Suffolk based florist specialising in creating stylish arrangements for weddings and events.

I have a design background and began my career in the world of visual merchandising, dressing the windows of some very famous department stores such as Selfridges and John Lewis. I then moved up into the production of catwalk shows and product launches, which gave me even more experience in creative design.

My love of nature prompted me to develop my career by moving on to working exclusively with plants and flowers at the well known Bressingham Plant Centre. This experience has obviously helped enormously to develop my ability to appreciate colour combinations as well as texture.

Inspired by everything I’d learned so far, I then took a professional class in flower arranging which made me realise that I’d found my true vocation! Once my children started full-time education, I took a professional two-year course at Otley College in Ipswich. Armed with this all-round knowledge, I’ve been fortunate enough to gain experience with several top class florists specialising in event decoration, working on fabulous events in some amazing locations and venues.

In 2003 I launched The English Rose Florist. It has gone from strength to strength, and my passion and experience with flowers has grown along with my own business!

The most exciting part about The English Rose Florist has been that I’ve discovered every bride and every wedding to be completely unique, providing me with a different challenge each time.

And another surprising benefit of working with flowers frequently is that my two teenage sons, and even my husband, know a ‘Grand Prix’ rose when they see one!
